Okay, I am going to be radical. I am going to use capital letters and correct punctuation, so I hope whoever posted annonymously on my blog is happy!

After reading this post, I am suddenly having a D.H. Lawrence moment. If you've read any of D.H. Lawrence's books (Lady Chatterley's Lover being the prime example), a paramount theme is the life of the body versus the life of the mind. In Lady C's Lover, the husband is emotionally dead; his inner self is a void because he focuses too much on intellectualism and condemns matters of the flesh. He is out of touch with humanity. Lawrence's plea is for society to find a balance between body and mind. Anyway, who cares about D.H. Lawrence? ...

"how can someone so attracted to the pleasures of the flesh be at home in the stuffy Classical Music world?"

The last word I would use to describe Classical music is "stuffy". How about "invigorating" or "stimulating"? Even "sensual" seems appropriate.

Sorry about the sunburn. I feel your pain; the sun eats away at my skin. Maybe you should take a sunscreen bath? :P

"this beautiful intervention convinces me that if Miami seems to exacerbate a certain torment of my inner sensualist, perhaps it is just the torment I need in order to be me."

This just reminded me about something you said in your previus post. How did you say it? Something about light passing through darkness to get to another, different light. The only way to evolve and achieve a greater consciousness of the cosmos and yourself is to pass through a time of torment and conflict, work through it, and then emerge in the new "light".

Thank you for bearing with my ramblings!

Ahh JD,the pleasures of basking in the beach of sunny Florida while your home back in the east is frigid cold and lonely.I envy your life right now but you need to enjoy this pleasures too.You deserve to pamper yourself and not think too much of your inner sensualism (CONTRAST OF MIND AND FLESH IS A MOOT.YES,REALLY!!!)after nights and nights of sharing your other sensualism of music to discerning dark audience.
Being a novice as you claimed,it is too late now to apply the creams, the "torment" has already began.Next time, apply first the suntan lotion before a dip or a walk on the beach even for a minute.Wait till you get to Texas, you'll be peeling off..
