One of the most well-written stories I've ever read. Fiction or no, it's an experience that is unforgettable.

The most hilarious post i've read so far!

I'm addicted to your blog now, by the way. I've read 16 pages in the last day. It's hard to practice when I want to keep reading. You're an excellent writer.

Hi Jeremy -
The Talking Piano - this is yourself having, say, -
32 insights to your soul, I' m sure of it:)
I was wondering some years ago, about this he/she/it - thing. Since the piano has a wing, it must be an angel, I thougt.
Wow, was I blue-eyed...!
But you know, if you could imagine that the tale you just have witten, I think it would make a fantastic short opera. Imagine your 88teeth-smiling Steinway on the stage (with you or someone playing it, of course, because this kind of opera does'nt go without piano-playing) and the singer of the role of the Pianist - wouldn't it be interesting? I mean, the singer and piano-player as a Piano should even look alike, just as in your tale your personality has these two (more, actually) sides - the The-Talking-Piano-who-looks-into-Jeremy's-soul-side and the Jeremy-who-wants-the-piano-to-talk-to-him-again-side.
And of course, as all the operas, it would be an opera about love.
Sorry, if my english isn't all correct, I have another language as my native-one, but I really have loved reading your soul.

With very best wishes from far away, but close to the piano:)

Do you know Tibor Fischer's novel, The Collector Collector? It's told from the point of view of a wizened and weary ceramic vessel who befriends its latest owner. Adventures ensue and the reader is left listening closely for the messages that their chair or toaster oven might be trying to communicate. We will probably never know even half the stories and myths our beloved objects concoct about us.

This was a great little tale, but this one bit in particular really made me burst out laughing:

“You think this takes a while,” the piano said, “you should hear yourself trying to memorize the Ligeti Etudes.”

Thanks for the swoop of whimsy! I was reminded a bit of After Hours but with friendship substituting for paranoia.

Be careful of that sake.

I figured out that comments work for me using Firefox but not Internet Explorer (the Submit button doesn't appear in IE).
